MoxyTech was founded in November, 2014, by Dr. Alexandre DaSilva and Eric Maslowski with the simple goal of...
improving the quality of life for patients
...in pain. It is our core belief that through the introduction of precise tracking, analysis, and communication of health data we can create global change and move past generalization into personalized, evidence based health care. This philosophy originated with Dr. DaSilva, and the expressed needs of his patients...A better way to measure and communicate pain is needed.
Motivated by necessity
...our philosophy translated into action when Dr. DaSilva partnered with Mr. Maslowski at the University of Michigan. The goal was to re-imagine the grid based solution created by Dr. DaSilva while with Harvard Medical and make it easier for patients, clinicians, and researchers to use. Two years were spent developing the concept from a paper-based 2D grid focused on the head into a digital 3D mobile app with interactive painting of pain. The product and interest continued to evolve leading to numerous accolades, media attention (Discovery, BigTen, etc.), studies, patent filings, and ultimately the business formation. In late 2016 Jamie Cope joined to expand the technology's reach and employ his unique skill set as we go to market.
What started as a journey to find something better than a scale of 1 to 10, has led to our flagship product, GeoPain, and a drive to change the way health care is done. MoxyTech is positioned to propel the big-data movement into pain care while providing patients and researchers alike with...
high-quality localized pain information
...that is invaluable to those trying to understand and deal with chronic pain conditions. Marking an 'X' on a generic human outline or picking a single number to describe your pain are tools of the past.
Pain is the most common reason for seeking medical care, and in many patients it severely impairs their daily life. We're determined to make a positive difference in how researchers, clinicians, and patients understand and manage pain. Change doesn't happen in isolation, and thus we are always interested in connecting with those who are commited to disrupting antiquated systems and advancing health care through precision medicine.

GeoPain's precise pain data helps researchers gain deeper insights, allows patients to more clearly communicate their experience, and enables clinicians to more effectively manage pain.
With GeoPain, patients of all ages can communicate the location and intensity of their pain more precisely, helping doctors better diagnose and treat conditions ranging from migraine and TMJ to neuralgia and back pain.
With the precise statistics captured by GeoPain, pharmaceutical and medical device companies can gain novel insights from smaller sample sizes, detecting treatment effects and targeting more responsive populations.
With the rich statistical databases of patient reported outcomes captured in GeoPain, researchers can better understand the impact of treatments over time.
Patients can record the location and intensity of their pain whenever and wherever it occurs using their preferred mobile device, and then share the data with their care team.
